Operators Home

Welcome to the Operators Home Page. This page has login and logistic links for active Medics & Radios Operators.

Terminology and Work Flow

  • People who join Medics & Radios and take our courses and play in our events are called operators, which is a general term for anyone in the Medics & Radios organization.
    • You are currently at the Operator Home Page
  • Operators who complete IS 100, 200, 700 and 800 and the NWCG basic wildland firefighter online courses (can all be done in a weekend, or 2) can join the Medics & Radios Sales Team.
    • The IS courses teach the basic structure of the Incident Command System (how things get done) and National Incident Management System (where stuff comes from) and the wildland fire courses teach about weather, outdoor safety, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other active topics.
  • Sales Team members who complete the online Basic Course, FEMA’s online Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Medics & Radios Staging Area Manager Course (can also be done in a weekend, or 2’ish) can become a Staging Area Manager and can recruit members (operators) for their local Medics & Radios Training Team.
    • Local operators who become Sales Team Members operate under the supervision of their Staging Area Manager.
  • Staging Area Managers make a commission on any products sold through their links, which includes to local operators, and make an over ride on every sale made by every properly supervised Sales Team Member in their Training Team.

Air Group Supply Sales Team

US-based Medics & Radios operators who complete FEMA’s free online IS 100: Introduction to the Incident Command System and IS 200: ICS for Initial Response as well as the free National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) online Wildland Fire courses, can join the optional Air Group Supply Sales Team.

Sales Team members make commissions on every Air Group Supply item or event sold through their link, online or off, get real-world monthly bonuses for managing On Air virtual airline duties for Sequoia Flight School and/or various on and offline Medics & Radios chores and also get a monthly stipend as part of the General Fund distribution. This manual and the online courses are the instructions for how to use that system.

No one is ever required to join the Sales Team. Medics & Radios operators can register for and take the Medics & Radios Basic Course and be certified as Medics & Radios Freelance Operators. Medics & Radios Freelance Operators can attend drills and events, but they don’t participate in real world sales or certain aspects of real-world events, partly due to insurance issues, and don’t get real-world money as part of the Sales Team joint efforts.
